Styx Lights Up Raleigh NC

With a storm looming on the horizon, Raleigh fans weren’t about to let a little rain dampen their night of rocking out with legends Styx, Kevin Cronin, and Don Felder. These incredible artists have united for the unforgettable Brotherhood of Rock tour.
Don Felder

Tonight’s show was a reminder that live performances don’t always go as planned. Set times had to be moved up and trimmed due to an approaching storm, but Don Felder and his band handled the change with absolute professionalism. Despite the shortened setlist, the performance never missed a beat. Calm and confident, Don commanded the stage as if it were his first time all over again. So full of excitement and heart. His voice, bright and effortless, sounded like it had been lifted straight from a vinyl record. More than just playing the music, Don radiated a pure love for it and shared that love with every person in the crowd.
Kevin Cronin

If racing the storm were an Olympic event, the stagehands would’ve taken home the gold as they swiftly cleared and reset the stage for Kevin Cronin and the band. Kevin stepped onto the stage like a man who’s lived a thousand musical lifetimes. Yet, still wins over a crowd with a single, timeless grin. Though the setlist was shorter than usual, it didn’t stop him from proving just how at home he is in front of an audience. Joy radiated from every band member as they tore through each song, and the fans responded in kind, belting out every lyric with all the passion their lungs could muster. Kevin and the band gave it everything they had, leaving the crowd exhilarated and hungry for more.

As thunder rumbled through the venue, we all knew the storm was closing in. But Styx was determined not to let fans leave without experiencing at least a piece of their magic. The crew sprang into action, setting the stage in record time, and then we were off. Though the band only had time for three songs, those three were pure joy. The crowd's energy was electric, rivaling the lightning that loomed overhead. In just 15 minutes, every member of Styx poured their heart into the performance, showing an undeniable love for the music they create and the fans who cherish it. It wasn’t a long set, but it didn’t need to be. Those three songs were enough to remind everyone why Styx are legends. Brief as it was, the moment left a permanent mark that will be etched into the memories of fans forever.
